Engineered Drainage, Pond Excavation & Balanced Earthwork | LaBelle, TX

Project type

Engineered Drainage, Pond Excavation & Balanced Earthwork

Location

LaBelle, TX

This flat residential property in LaBelle, Texas suffered from poor drainage and prolonged saturation after rainfall. With neighboring fences and drainage swales restricting the site on multiple sides, simply importing or excavating an arbitrary amount of material wasn't an economical solution.

Asher Construction collected field elevation data to develop a topographic model, then used our in-house engineering capabilities to establish a balanced cut-and-fill grading plan.

The design called for excavating a custom ¼-acre pond to a calculated depth and strategically reusing the excavated soil to raise and reshape surrounding areas for improved positive drainage. By balancing excavation quantities against required fill volumes, the objective was to minimize both imported material and expensive excess soil haul-off.

Throughout construction, 3D scanning and precision grade-control methods were used to field-verify elevations and monitor material quantities.

Because heavy equipment access crossed established residential areas, timber mats were imported and installed to distribute equipment loads and help protect existing grass, soils, and underground utilities.

This project combined engineered drainage, pond excavation, cut-and-fill balancing, topographic modeling, mass grading, precision grading, stormwater management, earthwork, and residential site development into a highly controlled earthmoving operation.
