2-Acre Land Clearing & Custom Pond Construction | Cleveland, TX

Asher Construction completed this residential land development project in Cleveland, Texas, transforming approximately two acres of difficult, previously logged property into clean, usable land while constructing a custom ¼-acre pond.

Years after the original timber operation, buried stumps remained throughout the site. These decaying root systems trapped moisture and contributed to saturated soils, hidden soft spots, and unstable ground conditions. Our crew carefully cleared and grubbed the property, removing both visible stumps and stumps that had previously been ground flush with the surface.

We then excavated a custom ¼-acre pond featuring a small island built around an existing tree. Excavation encountered medium sandy clay transitioning into heavier clay at depth. We strategically utilized the better clay material to finish and seal the pond bottom and slopes, providing favorable conditions for long-term water retention.

This project combined residential land clearing, stump removal, pond excavation, earthwork, grading, and property development to give the homeowner additional usable acreage and a unique centerpiece for the property.
